Orlando Officer Involved Shooting

A man was arrested after an officer-involved shooting early this morning in Orlando. An officer spotted a stolen vehicle in the area of Mercy Drive and Princeton Street shortly after 1 a.m. and began following it until it came to an abrupt stop on Chantelle Road. The passenger of the vehicle jumped out with the driver and shot at the officer as he ran away. Authorities say the officer fired back at the suspect, but no one was hurt. A police K-9 later tracked down the gunman and officers took him into custody. The driver of the stolen vehicle is at large. Police said the stolen vehicle was taken in a May 2 armed carjacking.
