The man who famously put down his Big Mac to help rescue three women held captive for a decade in an Ohio house is getting a fitting reward.
Charles Ramsey has been told he will never have to pay for another burger in his life by more than a dozen Cleveland-area restaurants and takeaways.
The Plain Dealer reports how the eatery where the dishwasher works initially created a special “Ramsey Burger” in his honour, but rivals in the city decided a larger tribute was due.
“We want to honour our local hero with local food,” said Scott Kuhn of the Driftwood Restaurant Group.
“He stopped his meal midway through to help those women. We’re now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger.”
