Nik Wallenda Wants To Walk Chicago Skyline Next

Nik Wallenda

Daredevil tight rope walker Nik Wallenda is reportedly choosing Chicago as his next destination to try his luck on the rope.

The 35-year-old Sarasota native is world renowned for his family’s skill on the tight rope. Last year he walked across the grand canyon live on national television. But now Wallenda says he wants to walk the Chicago skyline saying he “absolutely” loves the city.” The stunt is scheduled for this fall.

“Where can you find a more beautiful city with beautiful skylines like that right on the water?” he said via WBBM.

The walk is planned to start atop the Marina City and ends on the roof of the Leo Burnett Building. Wallenda would be walking a distance of two blocks, 50 stories up and at an incline of 50 degrees.

He does acknowledge the fact that there is danger involved but “There’s danger in everything we do. There is danger in driving in a car to get to the building today.”
