SANFORD, Fla. —Witnesses interviewed to provide authorities with insight to George Zimmerman’s character did not indicate that he was the least bit racist.
Zimmerman, 28, is charged with second-degree murder in the February shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17, at a gated community in Sanford.
He has maintained his innocence, claiming the killing was in self-defense.
FBI agents interviewed more than 30 people but found no one who said Zimmerman was racist or even showed biases or prejudices toward people because of their religion.
