ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Orlando’s computer simulation-training industry is abuzz with the prospect that some of central Florida’s richest military contracts in recent years could be awarded soon.
The Navy’s Orlando-based simulation training agency is planning to award a trio of major contracts next year to produce computer-based virtual training for a lightweight warship. Each contract has a potential value of $100 million.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the contracts could employ hundreds of high-tech workers in central Florida’s simulation industry.
The contracts, though, still have to survive the Pentagon’s budget cutting.
