The Bush Dynasty - Is Jeb really his own man

Let’s start with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush who gave his first big foreign policy speech in Chicago yesterday. Bush wanted everyone to know that he is “his own man,” not his father and not his brother when it comes to running for President of the United States.

According to today’s cover story in POLITICO the former Florida governor did not really convince anyone that he wasn’t influenced by either his father Bush 41 or his brother George W. Here is what they offer for the readers consideration.

Bush’s advisory team is being pulled together by two mainstream Republican foreign-policy experts who served both his father and his brother, Richard Haass and Robert Zoellick. They have enlisted not only old GOP lions like James Baker—who first served under Gerald Ford, then Ronald Reagan and distinguished himself as George H.W. Bush’s secretary of State—but also neoconservatives such as Iraq war advocate Paul Wolfowitz and John Hannah, Dick Cheney’s former national security advisor. MORE...

Meanwhile, President Obama told a gathering of world leaders on terrorism that,” The notion that West is at war with Islam an “ugly lie.” CBS News has extensive coverage of the gathering of representatives from 65 countries that are in Washington to talk with the President about how to best handle the threat of terrorism.

“We have to confront the warped ideologies espoused by terrorists like ISIL,” Mr. Obama said, using an alternate acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS),” said President Obama. “These terrorists are desperate for legitimacy, and all of us have a responsibility to refute the notion that groups like ISIL somehow represent Islam because that is a falsehood that embraces the terrorist narrative.” MORE...

Our last stop in BBC where they talk about the “Super Bug,” outbreak in Los Angeles. Nearly 180 people at UCLA Medical  Center in Los Angeles,  may have been exposed to a deadly strain of bacteria from contaminated medical equipment.

“We notified all patients who had this type of procedure, and we were using seven different scopes. Only two of them were found to be infected. In an abundance of caution, we notified everybody,” said Dale Tate, a University of California, Los Angeles spokeswoman. MORE…
