According to police, a motorcycle was travelling southbound on Belcher Rd. approaching a green light at 118th Ave.
Before reaching the light it cycled from green to yellow and then red. Two large vehicles were southbound ahead of the motorcycle and slowed then stopped for the light.
The motorcycle rider drove between the two stopped vehicles riding the white lane marker separating the median and middle lanes.
The rider ran the red light and crashed into a commercial van that was turning west on 118th Avenue from Belcher Rd.
The motorcycle rider sustained critical injuries and died shortly after the crash.
Traffic northbound has two lanes open and southbound traffic is limited to one lane.
