Mobile Home Destroyed In Haines City Fire

One person has died in a single-wide mobile home fire in Haines City Wednesday morning, while another was pulled safely from the flames.

Polk County Fire Rescue crews were called out to 805 Phillips Way shortly before midnight Wednesday. When they arrived, they found a mobile home park nearly fully engulfed in flames.

According to Polk County Fire Rescue, one person was pulled from the home by neighbors and one was reported still in the home. Firefighters made entry into the home but found one person died at 12:01 a.m. The person who was pulled from the fire was transported to Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center.

Although firefighters were able to get water on the fire within 30 seconds of arrival, the mobile home was destroyed. Polk County Fire Rescue crews were clear from the scene at 3:17 a.m.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
