The body found floating in Tampa Bay near Ruskin Thursday night is likely that of U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Kenneth Gates.
Gates had been missing since Monday when he dove off his small boat about two miles off Ruskin to retrieve an anchor that had become lodged on something underwater.
He never resurfaced.
The 32 year old was characterized as someone who grew up in the water and was an expert swimmer.
His death is called an accident.
