MIAMI (AP) — Police say a woman who was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood was probably not the intended target.
Miami police spokeswoman Keandra Simmons says officers responding to a call of shots fired Sunday afternoon found the woman with gunshot wounds. She died a short time later.
The Miami Herald reports this was the second fatal shooting in that area this month. Police did not say whether they believe the two shootings are connected.
No one else was hurt in the shooting. Police are continuing their investigation.
