MIAMI — Police in Miami-Dade County say a substitute teacher has been charged with lewd and lascivious battery against a minor.
According to investigators, 22-year-old Michael Vivanco met the 13-year-old victim through a social media website.
The two exchanged phone numbers and arranged to meet in person. Vivanco allegedly picked the teen up and took him to an undisclosed location.
Police say Vivanco solicited the victim to engage in sexual acts and that he consented.
Vivanco is a substitute teacher and volleyball coach at Felix Varela Senior High School in Miami.
Vivanco was arrested Friday after investigators say he confessed to the crime.
