Man Wanted In South Carolina Killing Arrested In Florida

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A man accused of shooting and killing one man in South Carolina last week has been arrested in Florida.

Local media outlets reported that 38-year-old Curtis Hicks was arrested in Miami on Tuesday. Hicks has been charged with murder and attempted murder for a shooting in Columbia on Saturday morning.

Twenty-year-old D’Angelo Jamal Perry died in the shooting at a Columbia apartment complex. A second man was wounded. His name has not been released.

Richland County sheriff’s deputies say Perry was helping the mother of the man who was wounded move out of Hicks’ home. Deputies say the woman had ended her relationship with Hicks.

He is awaiting extradition back to South Carolina.
