A man from Sumter County shot his brother in the head on Tuesday after an argument broke out over a tractor.

According to WFTS, Kenneth Caines, the brother who was shot, drove himself from the crime scene to meet deputies at a cemetery close to his location. The 43-year-old told deputies that a fight between him and his brother had escalated at their deceased father’s home over their tractor.

Caines told deputies that his brother, 54-year-old Mark Caines, shot him with a 9MM pistol.

Kenneth Caines was airlifted to the Lakeland Medical Center and is in stable condition. The hospital treated Caines for skull fractures and announced that he was in good condition.

Mark Caines quickly left the scene of the shooting but came back Tuesday afternoon and was arrested.
