Man Identifies Own Son as Robbery Suspect

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) _ Police say a man identified his 21-year-old son as the person who stole a woman’s wallet while waiting in line at a Boynton Beach Dunkin Donuts.

On Monday morning, 49-year-old Fredda Steidle was waiting to give the cashier her money when the man standing next to her snatched her wallet and ran.

Steidle says she ran after the man but he jumped in his car and drove away.

She wrote down his license plate number which police tracked to Micahel Ginger Sr.

When he viewed the store’s surveillance video, Ginger Sr. told police the robber was his son, Michael Jr.

Later Monday, the father called police and told them his son would turn himself in.

He faces petit theft and robbery charges.

Steidle’s wallet was returned, missing the cash inside.
