CINCINNATI (AP) — An Ohio man charged with plotting an attack at the U.S. Capitol has been moved to a Kentucky jail while awaiting another court hearing.
Twenty-year-old Christopher Lee Cornell was ordered held without bail after a federal magistrate last week concluded he was a danger to the community.
Cornell had been held in an Ohio county jail near Cincinnati after his arrest Wednesday. Jail officials would only confirm Sunday that Cornell was moved to the Boone County Burlington, Kentucky, on Friday.
Assistant Chief Deputy Jeff Balzer with the U.S. Marshals Service says that agency doesn’t comment on individual inmates. But he says it’s not unusual to move inmates to facilities that may be better suited to the needs of his marshals or the inmate.
Cornell is charged with plotting to attack the Capitol with pipe bombs and shoot government officials.
