The Howard Frankland Bridge from St. Petersburg to Tampa is slowly getting back to normal after a multi-vehicle wreck on the Pinellas County side this morning.
Accounts vary on how many vehicles were involved, but it is likely about a dozen.
Officials say one person was injured.
Many motorists got stuck in gridlock leading up to the crash scene, which was littered with vehicles and pieces of vehicles.
Others took the Gandy bridge or the Courtney Campbell Causeway to avoid the standstill on the Howard Frankland span.
