Madeira Beach Stabbing

Pinellas County Sheriffs Office is investigate a stabbing that happened in Madeira Beach yesterday that happened in an alleyway near Duhme Road and the Tom Stuart Causeway.

According to deputies, the victim, 57-year-old John Wiseley, was riding his bicycle westbound towards American Legion Drive in an alleyway between the Publix  and the inter coastal waterway around 2:45 Wednesday,  when he was approached by an unknown suspect on a bike who distracted the victim by telling him he had dropped something off his bicycle.

When Wisely stopped to look down, the suspect attacked him with an unknown type of knife.

The attacker stabbed Wisely in the stomach and slashed his left arm, as he apparently punched and fought off the suspect during the attack.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Wisely was transported by ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say no valuables were taken from the victim during the attack.

The attacker is unknown and the only description of him is that he is a black male and was riding a bicycle.

Patrol deputies along with Sheriff’s Helicopter searched adjacent neighborhoods for the suspect.

No arrest have been made at this time.

The investigation continues.
