London-Bound Flight Returns To New Jersey For Smoke Report

NEWARK, N.J. — A United Airlines flight from New Jersey to London has returned to Newark Liberty International Airport after reports of possible smoke in the cabin.

A United spokeswoman says Flight 922 returned safely to the airport after takeoff Wednesday morning. Passengers disembarked safely and no injuries were reported.

The plane was carrying 84 passengers and 13 crew members and was bound for Heathrow Airport.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Dohm says the flight was canceled and maintenance crews were examining the aircraft.
