Lithia Woman Accused of Shooting Boyfriend

A 22-year-old Lithia woman is accused of shooting her boyfriend in the back of the head while he slept in their house on Sunday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Sarah Ann Wilson shot and killed 50-year-old Timothy Miller in the living room of their 10216 Dry Bridge Road home about 9 p.m., deputies said.

Deputies were notified of the incident on Tuesday after someone approached Tampa police, saying that Wilson said she killed her boyfriend.

The incident follows an argument Miller and Wilson had on Saturday, deputies said. Wilson had apparently taken Miller’s truck on Saturday without asking and used it to go smoke crack cocaine early that morning.

On Sunday, about 9 p.m., Miller was sleeping on a bed in the living room when she shot him in the back of the head with a 410 shotgun.

On Monday, she told someone she shot Miller in the head with a shotgun.

She then took that person to the scene on Tuesday, where the person saw Miller’s body, deputies said. That same day, Wilson told another person, who then notified police, deputies said.

About 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies went out to the Dry Bridge residence to do a welfare check on Miller. When nobody answered the door, they forced their way in and found him in the living room.

Also on Tuesday, Tampa police found the victim’s truck in the area of 50th and Broadway, where it had been abandoned. Hillsborough County detectives later found Wilson at the Tampa 8 motel, 4350 E Old Columbus Drive.

She was interviewed and charged near midnight with second-degree murder with a firearm.
