The University of Kentucky’s Kentucky Center for Smoke-free Policy sponsored a celebration Monday with speakers including Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, UK nursing professor and center director Ellen Hahn and local and state officials.
The center said Lexington’s ordinance, which was amended in 2008, is a 100 percent smoke-free law covering all public buildings and work places, including facilities and vehicle owned or operated by Lexington-Fayette Urban-County Government.
