Largo Police are currently seeking a suspect in the attempted homicide reported Monday July 21, 2014 at 375 Seminole Blvd.
The suspect in the shooting has been identified as 23-year-old Rion L. Schofield. Schofield is 5’5″, 160 lbs, and wears prescription glasses.
A police investigation has revealed the suspect showed up alone at the park on a bicycle and started a verbal disturbance with a juvenile male subject that was already at the location with some friends. During the verbal disturbance the suspect displayed a gun before riding away. As the suspect started to ride away, he pointed the gun back toward the juveniles and fired multiple rounds. One round struck a 17 year old male in the arm/wrist area.
