A 17 year old Jenkins High student was hit and killed by a car Monday morning as he crossed Clubhouse Road in Lakeland on the way to his school bus stop.
Officials say there are no pedestrian signs or road markings near the bus stop that Kalen Kirk was heading toward, and it was dark at the time.
The driver who hit him was a long time school crossing guard supervisor.
The investigation continues.
