LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) _ Lakeland police are investigating an officer-involved shooting where a suspect was fatally shot.
A police report says officers were dispatched to a home Thursday night to help a resident secure personal belongings from the home.
When officers arrived, the suspect came to the door with a firearm.
The officers ordered the suspect to drop the weapon several times.
The report says the man did not drop the weapon and officers fired at him.
The suspect died at the scene. No one else was injured in the shooting.
No further information has been released. The officers involved are on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
