In Lakeland a sleeping passenger claims he had no idea the driver of a pickup truck had been fatally shot. The passenger was reportedly sleeping.
Lakeland police were called to the scene Sunday morning by a person who believed two people had been shot in a car parked outside, but only one had been once they arrived.
Tyler McQueen, 22, was shot but Bradon Burkett, the passenger, was asleep. Once Burkett was awoken, he said he was unaware of the shooting. He is cooperating with detectives at the moment.
The pickup, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, was registered to McQueen. Authorities are still interviewing the passenger and witnesses from the scene, but no conclusion has been made to this point.
