Kitten Rescued Inside Abraham Lincoln Statue

CLERMONT, Fla. (AP) _ A 3-week-old kitten that was rescued after being stuck inside the Abraham Lincoln statue in Clermont may soon have a new home _ and a name.

The kitten was found inside the statue at the Clermont President’s Hall of Fame.

Firefighters and the Human Society were on hand to get the animal out of the hole Sunday afternoon.

WKMG TV reports (http://bit.ly/Xpg27X ) the kitten was dehydrated and hungry, and will be nursed back to health before being put up for adoption.

The curator at the President’s Hall of Fame is hoping to adopt the cat and name him Abe.
