Judge Finds negligence in Deepwater Horizon Spill

BP

The cost of the Deepwater Horizon spill might skyrocket now that a judge has found that BP, the company that owned the rig, was negligent. The energy giant now faces fines under the Clean Water Act of up to four-thousand dollars for each barrel of crude that spilled into the Gulf of Mexico over the spring and summer of 2010.

ABC’s Jim Ryan covered the spill in south Louisiana four years ago and explains what the ruling could mean.
