John Kerry Goes To Kiev To Discuss Providing Supplies To Ukraine

Good cop/bad cop? Sign of a split after the White House considers arming Ukraine? Or last gasp of diplomacy before things get much worse? As fighting in east Ukraine continues to intensify, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was in snowy Kiev today, ready to discuss providing arms to the Ukrainian military. French president Francois Hollande announced he and German Chancellor Merkel also visited Kiev.

The two leaders were also scheduled to visit Moscow discuss a new peace initiative with Putin. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s armed forces could call up all female citizens aged between 20 and 50 to join the fight in the country’s eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, according to the spokesperson for the armed forces’ High Command.

ABC’s Tom Rivers joined us from London to discuss.
