Jodi Arias: Back In Court Tuesday

Jodi Arias

It was back in 2008 when Travis Alexander was viciously killed, allegedly by his ex-girlfriend Jodi Arias. She was indicted by a grand jury later that same year. It wasn’t until more than four years later that her trial began, with opening arguments in January of 2013.

It would be another five months before closing arguments. About a week later, in May of 2013, Arias was convicted of first degree murder. But then came the sentencing phase, and a hung jury was declared on whether Arias should be executed.

A new sentencing phase was ordered, and after appeals by Arias’ lawyers were rejected, it finally began last month.

Tuesday, Arias, who took the stand in her original trial, will take the stand once again, trying to convince a jury to let her live the rest of her life in jail.
