JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Jacksonville police are searching for a 19-month-old boy who they say was taken during a car theft at an apartment complex.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says Lonzie Barton was in a car belonging to his mother’s boyfriend around 2:20 a.m. Friday.
The vehicle was recovered several blocks away but the child was not inside.
They say the child was wearing only a diaper when he was taken.
They contacted the child’s father in nearby Baker County and he does not have the child.
Sheriff’s officials are asking anyone with information about the boy to contact them.
