Police Investigate Double Murder In Dover

Police in Dover are investigating a double murder after two bodies were discovered at a home yesterday evening.

Police were conducting a welfare check at 10075 McIntosh Road around 7 o’clock Thursday evening after receiving a call from a concerned neighbor. They informed police that their neighbors hadn’t been seen for days and that their mail was piling up.

Deputies discovered the bodies of 76 year old John Engelhart and 73 year old Nancy Engelhart in a shed. Detectives said the victims had likely been there for a couple of days. Officers called for detectives and began the process to obtain a search warrant.

Based on the investigation, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 48 year old Michael Anthony Herald. Herald had been hired by the Engelharts as a handyman.

The investigation is ongoing.
