JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Police say a 6-month-old girl was found alive in a car with a dead man and a woman.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office tells the Florida Times-Union the child was found alive Wednesday night along with two people who had been fatally shot.
Police are working with the Department of Children and Families to reunite the girl with her family. They did not identify any of the people involved.
Sheriff’s Chief Tom Hackney says deputies responded to a reported accident and found a black Nissan Maxima that had crashed into the carport of a house.
Hackney says it does not appear to be a murder-suicide. He says no bullet holes were found on the outside of the car, so the gunman could have also been inside at some point.
