GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A search committee is interviewing nine candidates as they search for the next dean of the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
The interviews are taking place Friday and Saturday in Gainesville.
The Gainesville Sun reports the committee had identified 10 candidates out of 22 people referred by a search firm hired to help the university recruit applicants. One candidate notified the group he was withdrawing his name from consideration.
The Sun reports that the public will have a 15-minute opportunity for comment at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, after the interviews are concluded.
The committee will select a smaller group more in-depth interviews and tours of the campus. Ultimately the committee will make a recommendation for Provost Joe Glover to consider. Dean Robert Jerry is stepping down in June.
