The G-7 summit, with no seat at the table for Russian President Putin gets earnest Thursday in Brussels. The leaders of the world’s wealthiest democracies will discuss whether to further punish Russia for its encroachment into Ukraine or whether to wait and see whether Putin makes a diplomatic overture to the new Ukraine president who takes office this weekend.
Also on the President’s radar is the fallout waiting for him back home with members of both parties objecting to his decision to exchange five Taliban figures for the return of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
