Interview: Drug Company To Pay Millions For Advertising Claims

Britain’s largest drug maker will pay just over $100 million to settle claims made by California, New York and more than 40 other states that it illegally promoted asthma and antidepressant drugs. Under U.S. law, a doctor can prescribe any medication for any condition, but drug companies must not stray from their labels when they promote the benefits of their drugs. ABC’s Jim Ryan reports on the settlement from Texas, one of the states to be compensated.
