Inaugural Invictus Games Underway In London

Prince Harry

The inaugural Invictus Games are underway in London. More than 400 injured servicemen and women competitors from 13 nations are taking each other on in nine adaptive sports over the next four days.

The competitors come from all walks of life but are bound by their armed forces experience and their determination not to let illness or injury defeat them.

Prince Harry got the idea from the Warrior Games in the U.S. and brought the concept to Britain. One person who isn’t expected to attend though is the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate, expecting her second child, has been suffering from acute morning sickness.
