They are meeting in Miami to examine how the United States can more quickly integrate its newest members into its civic and economic life.
The sixth annual National Immigrant Integration Conference runs through Tuesday at the Hilton in downtown Miami. U.S. Labor Secretary Thomas E. Perez, Rep. Luis Gutierrez and American Book Award winner Edwidge Danticat are among the speakers. Organizers say they expect more than 600 government, business and community leaders. The conference is organized by the National Partnership for New Americans.
