The search for a Jacksonville toddler missing since July may be over.
Human remains have been found in a wooded area nine miles from the apartment where 21 month old Lonzie Barton was last seen.
Ruben Ebron, the boyfriend of Lonzie’s mother, at first told police that someone drove off in his car from the apartment parking lot with Lonzie inside.
But officials now say Ebron has directed authorities to the wooded area where those human remains were found covered but not buried.
Lonzie’s mother, Lonna Barton, is charged so far with child neglect and lying to police.
