Guns, Drugs & Cash Found in Brooksville Arrests

After investigating and searching two different homes, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office found guns, drugs and cash.

Four men have been arrested.

On February 10, Vice and Narcotics detectives were called to investigate a marijuana grow house located at the 22000 block of Spring Prairie Road in Brooksville.

Deputies were originally responding to the residence to conduct a sex offender SPOT check on William Morgan, but once there the deputies noticed an obvious odor of marijuana. Mr. Morgan admitted the plants were his.

They found a total of 77 marijuana plants (36 from inside of the residence and 41 planted outside on various locations throughout the property) as well as drug paraphernalia.

Then on Wednesday, February 15, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at the 5000 block of Chameleon Court.  The search warrant was obtained after deputies responded to a home in an attempt to locate a subject for an outstanding warrant.

During a search of the house, numerous items of paraphernalia and several small marijuana plants were observed in the common areas of the residence.

They found 1 – 1/2 pounds of Marijuana, 15 grams of MDMA, 2 “hits” of LSD, 7 grams of Mushrooms, numerous drug paraphernalia, $2,850 dollars, and 3 handguns (.25 auto, .380 auto, and .38 revolver).

Police then arrested Andy Garcia (w/m, 07/08/91), Carlos Valentin (w/m, 05/15/80), and Austen Willis (w/m, 08/05/87).

Sheriff Al Nienhuis said, “I am pleased that three more guns, guns that were in the hands of criminals, as well as several types of dangerous drugs, have been taken off the streets of Hernando County.”
