GROVELAND — A single-engine, experimental ultralight aircraft crashed at the Groveland airport this morning, injuring the pilot, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
“Upon arrival, deputies found that the pilot was the only occupant and it appears he sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” according to a statement from Lt. John Herrell. The pilot, who was not immediately identified, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash occurred about 9:30 a.m. at the airport at 6548 Groveland Airport Road, south of State Road 50 and east of State Road 33.
