There were two students on the bus along with the driver, 65-year-old Sidney Odums of Clearwater. No one on the bus was injured.
The woman, identified as 28-year-old Erica Ficca of Largo, was driving a 2015 Dodge Dart when she crashed. Ficca had to be transported to Bayfront Medical Center via helicopter. She has serious injuries. Police say she was not wearing a seat belt.
She was also ticketed with careless driving and not wearing a seat belt. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Ficca was not intoxicated.
Westbound lanes on Ulmerton were closed while the scene was cleared.
