A motorcyclist is hospitalized with a “serious incapacitating injury” after he collided with car Tuesday evening.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says 55-year-old Mark Marzuco of Gibsonton, was traveling eastbound on Gibsonton Drive at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday when he entered the right turn only lane as he approached Mathog Road.
As he was driving, 25-year-old Michael Moreno of Riverview, was driving a 2008 Honda Civic and making a left turn through the stopped intersection due to congestion. As Moreno entered the path of the right turn lane his vehicle was struck on the left front corner by the braking motorcycle.
Marzuco was thrown about 35 feet over the Harley. Police say alcohol is not suspected.
Marzuco died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday as a result of his injuries. Moreno was not injured in the incident. The investigation into the crash continues.
