Georgia Sheriff Seeks Help To Identify Human Remains

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Authorities in northeast Georgia are seeking the public’s help in their attempt to identify human remains discovered in October.

The Times reports that the remains were found in eastern Hall County.

Hall County sheriff’s spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes said homeowners were out walking on their property off M. Bailey Road and discovered the remains Oct. 9.

Authorities said about 70 percent of the skeletal remains, including a skull, were intact when transporting them to the medical examiner.

They said it appears that the person was a middle-aged black woman between 5 feet and 5 feet 3 inches tall.

She was wearing a 3XL forest green hooded sweatshirt, a blue fleece jacket and 4XL dark athletic pants. She also was wearing a stocking cap.
