Garner Elementary has been taken off lockdown after there was a reported sighting of a weapon on campus. Police say everyone is safe and accounted for.
The Winter Haven Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office searched the school room by room after getting a report of a male with a weapon on campus.
At this time, no weapon has been found, according to police, but law enforcement officials are going room to room across the campus.
Winter Haven Police will continue to have a heavy presence in the area as the area continues to be searched for any possible suspects. Parents and residents in the area will continue to see the law enforcement presence through the early afternoon.
