Two women were killed in a wrong-way accident on US-19 on Monday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 51-year-old Marianne J. Campbell, of Fort Lauderdale, was driving south in the northbound lanes of US-19 around 9:45 p.m when she collided her 2002 Nissan Xterra with two elderly women.

According to police, 74-year-old Ruby Pearl Ray of Nixa, Mo. and 75-year-old Greta Overbay of Roachville, Ind both died of their injuries. Police say Ray died at the scene and Overby died at the Seven Rivers Hospital.

Campbell was airlifted to Ocala Regional Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

Investigators are still working to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

It is uncertain where Campbell crossed over into the northbound lanes, the FHP said.
