Florida’s DMV to Move it’s Tallahassee Data Center

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is shutting off Internet services and closing state-operated driver license offices next weekend to move its Tallahassee data center.

Officials on Thursday said offices will close at 4 p.m. and Internet services will stop at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Both will resume operating at 9 a.m. Sept. 10.

The department also is not scheduling appointments in driver license offices for Sept. 10 or the morning of Sept. 11.

Those whose driver license, identification card or license plate will expire on or before Sept. 7, should visit an office before then.

Internet services also will be unavailable for up to two more days during a second phase of the move beginning 6 p.m. Sept. 21.

In-office services will not be affected.
