Veterans Day Celebrated with a Big Ceremony

Veterans Day activities in the Bay area continued today with a big ceremony in Tampa at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital.

It served as a backdrop to the parade, to honor our veterans.

A ceremony and parade happened on the hospital grounds at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Tampa.

More than 50 veteran and civic groups marched in the parade, which caps off a weekend of salutes and solemn ceremonies.

The Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell hosted a Veterans Day ceremony on Sunday.

Hundreds gathered to thank and pay their respects to veterans.

This marks the 58th year America has celebrated Veterans Day since Congress amended the 1938 act that originally set this as “Armistice Day” to commemorate the end of World War I.

Today’s events at Haley Veteran’s Hospital, which started at 10 a.m., is open to the public and included a cookout.
