Two Boating Accidents, One Death

TAVARES, Fla. (AP) _ The body of a 33-year-old man was pulled from the choppy waters of a central Florida lake about two hours after his canoe capsized.

Authorities called Jonathan Alexander Burke’s Tuesday afternoon death weather-related.

Sheriff’s deputies from Lake and Marion counties told the Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/LAXhXK ) Burke was on Lake Dorr in the Ocala National Forest with his girlfriend and five children. The group was in two canoes.

Authorities say rough water forced Burke and his boys to return to shore.

He then went back into the water to help his girlfriend and daughters.

On the way, his canoe flipped and he disappeared under the water.

The girlfriend and children were rescued by someone else at the lake.

Rescue teams found Burke’s body several hundred yards from where he went under.
