JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Jacksonville teen was seriously burned after he and a friend broke into an electrical substation.
Police say the 17-year-old boys climbed a wall at the facility Tuesday evening. They were dancing around when they decided to get on the roof and try to jump into an opening.
The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/qAsMJQ ) reports that one of the boys hit a transformer as he was climbing back down and caused a power surge. The shock left him with severe burns.
The other teen was not injured.
Police say both teens face burglary charges.
