Teen Cited For Crashing Into Patrol Car

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A central Florida teen was cited after authorities say she crashed into a patrol car and nearly hit three deputies.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the patrol car and several other emergency vehicles were responding to water-main break early Tuesday morning. The Orlando Sentinel (http://thesent.nl/zTbqGk ) reports that emergency lights were activated, and flares were placed in the roadway.

FHP reports that 19-year-old Alexandria Renee Chiles apparently didn’t see the Orange County deputies directing traffic to the side. She eventually slammed on her brakes, but not soon enough to avoid the collision.

Chiles was cited for careless driving.
