Teen Being Robbed Saw Classmate’s Mom

DELTONA – Authorities say a robber stopped attacking a teenager at a central Florida ATM when the girl recognized her as a classmate’s mother.

The 17-year-old girl called Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies Saturday night to report the attempted robbery.

The teen was returning to her car after stopping by an ATM when 45-year-old Tammy Perras grabbed her from behind and smashed her face into the steering wheel.

As the attack continued, the teen realized the attacker was a classmate’s mom and called her out.
Deputies say the attack stopped and the girl gave Perras $5 to get her to go away.

Perras was arrested a short time later and remains in the Volusia County Jail on burglary with assault and robbery charges.
